The Reader of school practices on culture, body, gender, health

The reader is meant to provide a source of cross-country comparison for policy-makers, school directors, teachers who wish to put their own approaches in context, while learning and being inspired by the different European approaches.

The reader provides an insight into how different countries and different education systems cope with cultural diversity. The reader explores two sets of comparative information:

a) Comparative Collection of National Programmes and Priorities in France, Italy, Cyprus, Spain and Austria. The programmes are analyzed in order to identify whether they reflect on diversity, if they propose to address diversity in early childhood education, and whether they offer practical recommendations on how to do so. We compare the subjects taught, themes, and proposed activities that are related to the themes of body, gender, sexuality, health and disability from an intercultural perspective.
b) Collection of Good and Bad Practices: a collection of school practices related to culture, body, gender, sexuality and health. With the aim to inspire teachers, teacher trainers, educators and parents, the collection offers an overview of good and bad practices from each of the partner countries, as well as practices from other countries.
